  • This tournament is linked to the longest day of the year, played this year on Monday, June 19th.

  • It consists of one 18-hole round.

  • No flights and no divisions by age or gender. Everyone competes equally, and the winners are determined by net score, i.e. strokes minus playing handicap. Whoever has their best day, wins.

  • Individual and team competitions, played concurrently. Entries are limited to the first 72 received. (Teams are assigned by the tournament)

  • Open only to Club members who have a valid index on the Golf Canada system and at least 3 scores entered on the system for the current season. The Games & Handicap Committee is the final adjudicator of playing handicaps.

  • Competitors may choose to play from any tee for the round (blue, white, red, or hybrid) and their playing handicap will be adjusted accordingly.

  • Playing groups are teams assigned by the tournament, structured so that all teams contain players of different skill levels and have roughly equal group average handicaps.

  • Prizes to the top five finishers and the top team take the form of pro shop credits for the individual players based on shares between 5% and 25% of entry fees.

  • The individual first winner will also take home the unique Solstice trophy, a one-of-a-kind wildlife carving by local artist Garry Jacobson, similar to→→→

  • The draw and results will be posted here.

This tournament is designed:

1. To group competitors outside their usual playing partners to encourage social interaction and give new members an opportunity to become part of our Club.

2. To be an entry-level tournament event which does not require entrants to find a team or make a large time or financial commitment, while not greatly impacting normal operations.

3. To promote members’ maintainance of a handicap index on the Golf Canada system
